According to state by state numbers recently released by Gallup, 64.6 percent of Californian adults report visiting the dentist at least once in the last twelve months for a routine dental cleaning and exam. This number is just about even with the national average of 64.7 percent, but well below the top quintile average of 72.5 percent.

While California is in line with the national average for maintaining dental health, the practices of adults in our state are far from ideal. Sadly, the less attention paid to preventive dental care, the higher the risk of issues such as gum disease and tooth decay – ultimately allowing skipped visits to result in lost teeth and other serious concerns.

How Often Should I Visit the Dentist?
